Very recently my friend on iland ' SWATI 'raised the same question that was playing in my mind too and i.e. "Why U.S. can't have or can't afford female president?" am not bothered about what really happens in U.S. but I thought and like to share the possible cause of the question raised.
First of all, US has political system is quite different than the other democratic political systems. In short U.S has dominative, assertive n aggressive politics for the rest of the world.
US has political interests n involvements with different standards in many parts of the world.
America has history of involvement in the Middle East. There are too many factors that require the president to keep in touch with most Middle Eastern countries: Iraq's government transition, oil demand and suspicious nuclear programs, Afghanistan issues to name a few.
In U.S interested countries like Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Afghanistan, women aren't granted all the rights that men have and in some places women don't have much rights, and they're definitely not viewed with the same admiration, In such situation it would be hard for a female president to control, manage and influence the things.
I am not against any religion or civilization but its fool to expect from the Islamic world (their values n standards for the females) to give proper respect n credibility to a female president. (coz of U.S's special interests)
Not only Hillary Clinton but Condoleezza Rice and others did had difficulties and will have difficulty rising to their fullest political potential because of the "globalization of global women discrimination."
By considering the Indian female president (Hon. Pratibha Patil) there are other countries around the world run by women who are getting along just fine i.e. Chile, Liberia, Finland and Germany are all led by women. But most important thing is that these countries don't have a reputation, effect and influence like America does. It's in this context that one must look at the job of a female president
It's wrong or unfortunate enough that political leaders would treat a woman president unfairly, but the global public will surely form inferior judgments, too, yes - most predictably in Middle East. People will roll their eyes or laugh at any overly compassionate decision made by a female president, blaming her actions on a woman's tendency to be radically emotional.
American mentality things that women's emotional nature is against the policies, methods and the intention of their " GLOBAL WAR AGAINST TERRORISM " they need a strong man to support this.
Many American's and the people in the world think that the countries who have female leaders are not equipped with powers to shake the world, they just make showoff of having female leaders and hence US prefer male leaders.
The main issue is that the U.S. can't maintain its influential and imperative role in the global community with the global interests for the personal benefits of USA.
In context with above things American people tend to think that male president is always better than the female.
These are the possible reasons that American voters are unwilling to elect female president.
